Time for something new

Boycotting worked so long ago. Now is the time to buycott. Buy shares in corporations that are not being good corporate citizens and then use your vote as a stockholder to change corporate climate. Another option is to create good corporate citizen corporations to provide the services we need. It is time we get our government to do what is best for all citizens. Email I got today from change.org Tell Verizon: Drop the new fee for paying bills online Libby -- Hey - it's Molly! Remember when together we beat Bank of America -- and the whole banking industry backed away from charging us just for using our debit cards? Well, it’s time to get the band back together. Verizon just announced a new fee for paying your bills online. Really. Even though paying via internet is fully automated. It’s not just about the money (though if you’re like me, you don’t have extra cash to be sending to a giant phone company in order to pay your own bills). It’s that Verizon thinks it can do anything t...

We must hold our elected officials accountable

Short simple to the point. It is all in the title. Please read the links below and then take action. It is time that we return to being a progressive nation. We must stop the regression of our society. Between ALEC and Tea Party we are seeing a return to the robber barons era in America. We must take a stand. Tea Party was allowed to run rampant with guns yet peace OWS participants have been beaten, sprayed, and arrested. We must take a stand. We must return our government to the people. Our country was formed because a group of people were tired of being controlled by corporations via the government. We must take a stand. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/29/jerry-brown-occupy-oakland_n_1175302.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000003 http://www.alec.org/ http://alecexposed.org/wiki/ALEC_Exposed

Black people for Ron Paul

I am posting a link regarding Ron Paul and how some Blacks view him. I personally will not vote for Ron Paul. I will not vote for anyone who is OK with anyone's dying because of a lack of health insurance. Ron Paul is logical on some items of public policy. However he misses the mark on other items. Some of the things he says are liberating yet most of what he says and does is not beneficial for the whole. Having said what I have said, Ron Paul is the only current GOP candidate who can give President Obama a run for the money. Newt's cries of racism by Paul fall on deaf ears. Newt knows Paul is a strong contender. The GOP powers that be know Ron Paul is a real contender who will not play by the GOP rules. Check out the video. Please let me know what you think of the video. People speak up

I write this note to Americans. My countrymen we have, in theory ,more power than any other group of people on the planet. Why are we remaining silent as our rights and social protections are being taken from us? It is time for us to stop protecting corporations. The job creators being given special protection and tax dollars are not creating jobs in America. We have a problem and we must speak up and out. Please read the article below. We cannot afford any more of Republican Party rhetoric http://m.examiner.com/liberal-in-orlando/michigan-governor-takes-away-unemployment-benefits-to-pay-for-corporate-tax-cuts - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Xmas War

When will Americans wake-up to the lack of a war on Christmas. Today, I am thankful McDonald's is open. What other religion in America closes the post office? What other religion in America closes schools? How many public schools in America have Christmas plays? There is no war on Christmas. The "war on Christmas" is nothing more than a construct by the media to maintain the numbers of those who vote Republican. It sole reason for existence is to create a victim mentality to increase the numbers of the Republican party. Looking at "Christians" in America under a microscope very little Christ can be found in the Republican party (IMHO). Knowing scripture and attending church become nullified when the death of someone without insurance is celebrated. There is a war on Christmas but it is not against the holiday or the closure of public and private concerns for the holiday. The war against Christmas comes when people give into the demands of Madison Ave...

Once more Americans being held hostage at Christmas time

It seems to me that the GOP likes holding Americans hostage at Christmas time. Last year the GOP flexed its triceps over the Bush Tax Cuts. GOP demands we continue to enjoy protecting "job creators" while we lie in the dark room of our home ill because we can not afford electric or medication. We must get Boehner and crew to understand we will not take it anymore. It is time for us to become active. I watched Boehner's press conference today. He told only one truth in the entire 5 minutes of speaking. I have posted a link to the conference. Guess what I found to be the one truth(whole truth) in his speech. Best quote of the day : " The disagreement here is not between the Speaker and the president." He said it's not the president's responsibility to act as a "marriage counselor" between Republicans in the two chambers." Where is my nation?

Where are my people at? I am appalled by the hatred towards Muslims. Lowes which is my store of choice pulled ads from Muslims in America. Lowes, which supports NASCAR, pulled ads from a show that depicts the actual lives of most American Muslims. NASCAR fans are not known for big MLK Day celebrations yet Lowes support. We, as Americans, have lost our ever loving minds. We have become so fearful, thanks to the constant images of radical Muslims in our media. We now refuse to learn how unfounded is our fear of Muslims. Sad. I want my nation back to sanity - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

More children dead under pressure

America what is going on? Yes, my children drive me batty but each time I desire to beat them into the middle if next year, I remember why I have them. It is time we as a people learn how to have peace. The peace that allows us to face all storms. Blessings to parents struggling everywhere. Blessings to the children caught in the struggles if their parents. https://twitter.com/clarionledger/status/148163087176974336 - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

An American Nightmare

As politics is played in DC, Americans suffer. Companies are hiring but at low wages and without benefits. People drive greater distances for employment yet we have no high speed rail. Healthcare costs rise while GOP guilt those who need coverage into foregoing care. Games are played daily in DC with the lives of the American middle and lower classes. Welcome to the American Nightmare. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Call to call Congress

Orin Hatch complains about GOP not being involved in the latest proposal from Dems. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought the GOP was locked into a deal with Grover Norquist. A deal that limits the GOP to solving our fiscal issue to only social spending cuts. Sad part the Dems actually included GOP cuts. Yet the GOP continues to be the party of no. Please make a call to Congress. Once more GOP holding poor, working poor, & real middle class hostage at Christmas time. Make the call. It is time to get Congress to listen. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

OWS dead? Again?

I am so angry at this moment I cannot type straight. http://townhall.com/columnists/susanbrown/2011/11/30/we_are_not_the_99_percent/page/full/ I am sick of false stories planted in the media to kill a real people's movement (OWS). OWS is not dead nor is it dying. Please read the article. We must get more real stories into the media about Occupy. This woman has not been to Occupy she is only repeating a lie created in the MSM to kill Occupy. The people of Occupy are too busy attempting to make a change to think of orgy and the like. MSM is being irresponsible to all at Occupy as Occupiers. There are those at Occupy camps who are not Occupiers but people intent on killing the movement by any means necessary. Please spread the good of Occupy. We must be the media until the media reports truth.

Does Crazy Ever Take A Holiday

Short and sweet. Check out this link. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/03/opinion/blow-newts-war-on-poor-children.html?_r=1&emc=eta1 How much more crazy from GOP must we have? Mississippi progressive ?

Mississippi Leading the way Surprise surprise. Mississippi has shown the nation how to respect the rights of citizens peacefully protesting. https://twitter.com/occupyms/status/141615445865271296 Follow OccupyMS on twitter for more info. The Cost of Occupy Wall Street

Recently a fake news story was making the rounds regarding the 13M dollar cost of Occupy to American cities. I call it fake for the story is a plant designed to turn public against Occupy. I once had an instructor say to my class, "figures do not lie but those who figure do". The facts in the article were presented in such a fashion as to elicit sympathy for the economically hard hit cities, forced to police Occupy. Really! Forced to police a group of peaceful people who have come together to exercise their constitutional right to protest? These people have brought no weapons beyond their voices and their rights to vote. Yet, they are more of a threat than Tea Party members with automatic weapons near President Obama. The nonsense we have had in this movement has come from those not associated with it or from those attempting to stop it. The claims that OWS does not have a message are generated from the corporate controlled media ( think major defense contractor GE). O...

Tanking our economy

Quick thought. It is amazing that some people will hurt Americans just to get Obama. We must become job creators to save our nation. Do not buy from such people who are willing to tank our economy to get Obama. http://rolandmartinreports.com/blog/2011/11/georgia-businessman-refuses-to-hire-until-obama-is-fired-video/ - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Colorado is now trying Personhood(3rd time is the charm) http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_19384073. I can not take the measure seriously. We do not care for the children living. I shall stop my rant short today. OWS: Politicians Just Don't Get It

Please read all of the links in this posting. I am but a small link in being our own media. Thanks keep it going. GOP out of touch. Democrats afraid to be Democrats out of touch. The main thing that should be noted in watching OWS is the people are no longer asleep. 1960's style attacks on peaceful people will not be allowed to remain unmitigated by the laws of the land. Those who attack the people peacefully protesting will be held accountable no matter what office they may or may not hold. We the people will have our day in court and at the polls. Even if we must face the costs of recall elections we will be heard. It is time for our leaders and would be leaders to recognize we are no longer sleeping. We the people are wide awake. We do not like the jeopardy our elected officials have place our nation. OWS goes beyond jobs. It is not only about money. It is about those who put money ahead of what is best longterm for America and all Americans. I love my country and all the pe...

OWS Not Dead

Please do not believe the hype. OWS is not dead. It is alive and growing. Each day those in power refuse to listen to the people, it grows. This movement is not about liberals, Whites, Ron Paul it is about all Americans waking up to the mess our bought and paid for politicians have allowed to occur in our nation. This movement did not start yesterday or because of the Arab Spring. Those who think this movement is about Obama, The Bush Years, or even what happened in the Near East have been in a deep sleep. A sleep induced by the elixir that trickled into our psyche from the Reaganomics IV. In 1992 Arrested Development song about OWS "Got to get political, political I gotta get," Speech rapped. "Grown but can't hold my own, so this government needs to be overthrown/ Brothers with the AKs and the 9 mms need to learn how to correctly shoot 'em/Save those rounds for a revolution /Poor whites and blacks bum-rushing the system /But I tell you: Ain't no room ...

The skillet is hot

Occupy Wall Street is the skillet in America finally becoming too hot for 99% to continue to handle. I watched one of the female, Leymah Gbowee, Nobel Peace Prize winners describe her ordeal in Liberia. She detailed of how she lived in fear for 14 years. She described how after 14 years the fear gave way to anger. It was that anger that drove them to protest. They had reached the point of nothing to lose and nothing to gain by being fearful. We in America must speak out now. We do not need civil war nor do we need to remain silent in fear of our corporate overlords. I read a tweet tonight where Karl Rove asked Occupiers who gave to them the right to occupy? I guess Karl is not familiar with our founding fathers. However his question showed much. It showed how our public holdings have become privately owned. It showed how we are not free. It showed how we must ask permission to have access to public property. It showed how only 1% of the people actually control our resources. We mu...

Mississippi loves GOP

http://www.wlox.com/story/16059747/long-beach-takes-a-stand-on-state-employee-retirement-system?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Please. Please read the link before reading my post. Last Tuesday we voted in Mississippi to elect actual in name and action members of the GOP to control the state. In the past we elected DINOs (Dem in name only). Why do we, financially disadvantage people, vote GOP? Are we too poor to dare ask for more than $7.45/hr? Are we poor to dare say what another mouth to feed means for our household. Are we too poor to have the ear of God? Are we too poor to afford food at the supermarket which necessitate the stockpiling of guns to feed our families? Why are we voting GOP in Mississippi? I am not against GOP just what these members of the GOP plan for our state. Say a little prayer.

Who will save Americans?

Who will save the Americans under attack by the police? America the land where protesting is a right is attacking the citizens. Where are the drones to stop the attacks on peaceful people protesting? Will NATO intervene as they did in Libya? Will NATO sit on the sidelines and watch us beaten and maimed like Syrians? Must we die and be under house arrest like the Syrians before the world considers sanctions against America? What is the threat of people coming together peacefully to ask the government to stop giving preferential treatment to corporations over citizens? Corporations are not citizens. Why fear the people demanding adherence to the Constitution after wasting a day in Congress to read it? Wake up people. Occupy is not dead. The people may be beaten but they are not dead. Occupy is not about politics. It is about people coming together to demand freedom from economic oppression that is sinking our nation while benefitting only a small percentage of the population. - Posted u...

It is 8AM and the ignorance continues to flow

I am amazed at how ignorance is allowed to prosper in our society but intelligence is beat back into a dark corner. This morning as I sipped my McD's coffee I scanned a few headlines. I was dismayed, not shocked, to learn the Penn State coach's rape of mostly minority boys was evidence of the ills of same-sex parenting. Really!???!? I felt another blow to my dyke-ish solar plexus. Because I am still working through having been abused as a child, I have, for the most part, tried not to follow the story or to comment too much on it. Yet, when this( http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mobileweb/2011/11/12/penn-state-scandal-jerry-sandusky-gay-adoption-_n_1090253.html) type of ignorance makes it into MSM as an authoritative summation I can not be quiet. The AFA has a strange way of showing concern for Americans and American families. Instead of using it's massive funding to uncover the cover-up or to help the rape victims get the help they need, they come out swinging against th...

Darkest before dawn

Occupy Matters Dear Occupiers please continue to occupy. Your bravery is making change in the coldest of hearts. It is true you have been shot, sprayed, and jeered by the power structure yet you have not gone under. Those who seek to kill the movement have infiltrated to be instigators of mayhem, designed to cast a shadow on people desiring to be free of economic oppression. The corporate controlled media have made even the liberals in the media still their support for OWS. Spineless Democrats are beginning to join Nancy Pelosi in walking upright. Banks have rescinded the decision to charge fees on debit cards. Republican support for the Grover Norquist pledge is being challenged by Republicans. We, 99%, can do much when we come together for the greater good. Selfishness, greed, and desire for absolute power (Koch brothers) created the mess we have in this world. May the legacy of OWS be people world wide learning to not oppress another. Continue the good fight. We who are not asleep t...

Abort not taking care of our children

Taking care of the children we have does not seem to be job one. This week Mississippi voted down a measure to prevent medical removal of fertilized eggs. As I scan the news I wonder why we put so much emphasis on eggs when we do not care for the children we have. We allow our children to bully others. We turn a blind eye to their pain. We protect our jobs and reputations more than the children. America we have a problem. We spend like drunken sailors to protect a fertilized egg but fight to not contribute to a loaf of bread for a needy child. https://twitter.com/ajc/status/135145058012901376 https://twitter.com/huffingtonpost/status/135164913281802240 - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Misspssippi's Hollow Victory

November 8th Mississippians came together to act in a progressive manner. However beyond measure 26 on the ballot there was no progression. Mississippians chose to keep the same regressive power structure in place. So called liberals were unable to see 26 as the red herring it was. The real road to cementing a Republican powerhouse was measure 27. It pass with over 60% of the vote. This measure was the Voter ID proposition. Progressives in Mississippi have many battle fronts to secure if they desire to bring Mississippi out of the economic and social oppression that stifles true growth. Mississippians still work on a plantation they just do not pick cotton anymore. The jobs coming to Mississippi are still paying low wages that require individuals to work two jobs for many years. People in Mississippi apply for disability by the time they are 40 because of working two jobs most of their adult lives. Yet these same people continue to fight amongst themselves rather than take a stand...

Occupy cotinue to stand

It is amazing how the elected officials continue to be sock puppets for the 1%. These people pretend hard to not hear what we are saying. They pretend that OccupyWallStreet happened out of the blue. Worse yet they pretend that Americans had no clue before the Arab Spring. NO. We as Americans have been well aware as to what is going on in our nation. We had shut our eyes and ears to pretend the molestation of our rights and liberties by our favorite uncle was not occurring. However, we have finally reached the recovery stage of our lives. We understand that we do not have to be victims. We can control our responses to the economic and environmental abuses against us. We now know we are not alone. We stand together ready to face our abuser in the system of universal justice that is now in play. Stand strong Occupy. There will be those who attempt to derail the progress. They will come from the inside and the outside. Take stock. Check your moral compass hourly and the movem...

Our Own Media

Simple request: I need to raise at least $1,300 by Wednesday afternoon to help get the word out in Mississippi that we have an election November 8th, next Tuesday. My goal is to travel the 500 miles from the Coast to South Memphis and all points in between to get the word out. The $1,300 will cover the cost of the newsprint, gas and Motel 6 Saturday night. I expect to be found at all Walmarts from the Coast to South Memphis and all points in between. I am not above going to churches on Sunday and night clubs Friday and Saturday night. Originally I was planning to just do a voter's guide online, however; last week someone said something to me that shook me to my core. This person, well read, world traveler, and highly educated was not aware of the primary being over and Mississippi having the first Black to run for governor on the ticket of a major party. My goal between Friday afternoon and Monday afternoon is to put a voter's guide into the hands of at least 8,200 peop...

Correction on PERS

I am thankful to my readers. Thanks for your emails Here is an update to my blog posting earlier. People we must stay awake. Be not dumb downed by the system. Stay awake. Correction: I may have given you a wrong number on the PERS lawsuit. I said PERS total assets were $36 billion. I got that figure from the 2010 PERS financial statement. However, I've been reading that the fund has $20.8 billion as of June 2011. Which means that 16% (not 8%) was swindled from the PERS fund. http://www.desototimes.com/articles/2011/08/13/news/local/doc4e43155674fe0150288484.txt MPB says $20 billion: http://mpbonline.org/News/article/pers_head_says_system_sustainable After reading further, I am OUTRAGED that Barbour's commission is being funded by federal stimulus money. Money that was SUPPOSED to be used on repairing infrastructure and creating jobs. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Wake UP Mississippi PERS

Every now and then a reader sends information to me that I find useful. I am posting to my blog an update I got today from a reader. I am leaving out the reader's name for I do not have permission but will update with name once I have it. I find the information sent to me to be too important to keep to myself. This is an issue not just for Mississippi but across the nation. Mississippi is the economic poster child for Tea Party economics. We must do something now in Mississippi and across the nation to put life back into proper perceptive for 99% of Americans. Occupy. Occupy now. Sad little buried news items sent to me by a reader: To my fellow liberal mad woman in Mississippi, I came upon your blog on your Occupy night at Smith Park and noticed your comment on PERS. Though certainly not my only reason for supporting the movement, I do consider PERS to be revelant to OWS. You list the cutting of benefits by Boss Hog Barbour and we are in total agreement on that. Quick AM thought

If you follow me on Twitter(@amsmadwoman ) or FB(Libby Middleson) then you know I have been active away from my blog. I am working on a guide for voters in Mississippi. However this morning as I dressed I had the opportunity to listen to corporate owned MSM (HLN) discuss the events in Oakland. Hold your hats for the spin: the police are victims of the protestors. WTL?!!??! I too have heard stories of the police being hit by rocks in Oakland. However I was not in Oakland to confirm. I can not confirm if rocks were thrown or if the person(s) throwing objects were protestors or undercovers. The spin by MSM is outrages. It shows who owns what in America. There is a continued move to discredit the movement. The police rep on the show claimed the protestors had no respect for law forcing the hands of the police byte news person claimed the protest should not be overnight. I guess neither of them have been impacted by the 8 yrs of bad policy during the Bush administration. I guess the co...

Writing voter guide for MS

Busy with family, Occupy Mississippi, and writing voter guide. Although Mississippi did not produce idiotic immigration legislation it is proposing something much worse, prop 26. My Occupy Night

My Occupy night lasted 2 seconds. Someone whispered rats in my ear and I left. Give thanks to those Occupying. I arrived at the park a veteran of camping in the wild and having slept in a few subway stations. I was ready for police, police dogs, night sticks, fire hoses, and jail. I was not ready for the parade of rodents. Jackson Mississippi is the same as NYC, Chicago, and Atlanta in regards to what happens when the lights go down. So blessings to all who are occupying to regain our quality of life. Thank you. I shall say, the police presence at the park while I was there was kind. They were doing safety patrol without harassing. Then again the governor and Lt governor are attempting to cut retirement for public employees. PERS is one of the reasons I thought to brave the night at the park. Please stay strong on this mission. If you are such as myself answer the call from those Occupying. If you cannot occupy you can support those who do. Send food and first aid supplies. Be r...

Occupy Mississippi

Mississippi Occupy Smith Park October 15, 2011 - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

http://howtooccupy.org/

It is time to come together. We have a voice. We are not controlled by corporations. We are individuals coming together for the common good of our species. Let's do this people. We bring love, peace, and understanding as we seek economic justice for all http://howtooccupy.org/

Rest

Tonight I rest. I prepare to occupy in Mississippi this Saturday. I read daily of local governments cracking down on the occupation. Daily I read of arrests of those who seek equality of economics for all Americans. Now is not the time to be faint of heart. We must continue our stand. The Senate's refusal to vote for the jobs bill is reason enough for us to stand. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Occupy Mississippi

The General Assembly of Occupy Jackson-Occupy Mississippi endorses, agrees, affirms, and adopts the declaration made by Occupy Wall Street. We agree that it is representative of our thoughts on the basic problems we feel we have today. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peacefully assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

We still stand

Stand you in NYC. Stand those in Boston. Stand people in Atlanta. Stand strong Portland, Main. Stand America. Rise Mississippi. Join your voice longed silence by those elected to guide you to prosperity. Rise Mississippi. Wipe the tears from your eyes. Stand. Stand and demand a seat at the table. No more will you work 16 hour days just to bring home a tenth of the boss's pay. Rise Mississippi. No longer will your children be undereducated and overworked. Rise Mississippi. Stand stand for a quality of life deserving of one who has worked for so long so many hours and so many days. Rise Mississippi. It is time. Occupy now. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Still I shall Occupy

It is early AM. I awaken early because of a dream of being arrested without just cause. News reports of people being arrested and beaten in other states #occupywallstreet fill my twitter and Facebook accounts. This protest will be one where I shall not bring my son. I prepare for arrest though I have no plans to break any laws. Do I fear? No. My belief is in doing right for the right reason. I join #occupywallstreet for many reasons. My main reason for joining is to encourage Americans to seek out information on their own. The more we know the more we grow into understanding our rights as citizens. When we sit back and allow others to tell to us our rights we loose them. Occupywallstreet is important and it is important that we do not stop. We must continue to occupy. No matter the beatings. No matter the detainment. We must stand for our economic rights. We need universal healthcare in America. We need our transportation and information infrastructure upgraded. We need to imp...

Kill my seed before it grows

Sheriff John Brown. Stand up. Stand up for your rights. As I channel Bob Marley, I feel those words as never before in my life. Tonight I attended a meeting to plan OccupyMS. I was shocked to see 35 people out to plan in MS. During the course of the meeting several people made statements that echoed the words of the establishment to kill a movement. OccupyWallStreet is confusing the MSM (corporate controlled need). After attempting to ignore the movement, they are now scrambling to define the movement. After being unable to label a leader or a single cohesive issue, they are now attempting to discredit the movement. It is for us the people to not depend on MSM to define our movement. America in the last 12 years have created enough ills for us to protests a full year 24/7. This movement is not about a single issue. It is about the collective economic and social oppression of Americans. When roughly 1% of a population controls 89% of all resources and 99% of the people do not have a...

Who is Christ

We have lost our way in this nation. Can anyone still spell Christ? Immigration laws show a very ugly side of our nature. We have become little more than fake Christians in a nation that stops for Christmas. http://news.yahoo.com/immigrants-fearing-deportation-plans-kids-131450031.html Check out this story. It should pull more than a heart string. What about a brain muscle? Wake Up America. Simple wake up.

EPA must die or so say Southern people

It amazes me how Southerners continue to work to kill themselves and their children. Georgia has joined the Southern fight to eliminate EPA rules that require companies to be responsible to the environment in the course of business. I am not willing to sell the lives of my children and their children for a dollar today. These Southerners claim it is anti-Southern to care about the environment. I say their claim is full of hog-wash. If we allow corporations to continue to bypass EPA regulations there will be no place to obtain free drinkable water or breathable air. We will find ourselves paying for those things required for life. We will pay the very corporations that polluted the resources beyond usability. People wake up. Think for a moment. Is that paycheck really worth it? http://m.ajc.com/business/georgia-sues-epa-over-1195909.html http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=375321983004 http://blogforcleanair.blogspot.com/2008/04/mississippi-official-trolls-for-other...

I too have feelings:

Tonight as I was planning what to buy from McDonalds to feed my child, I learned of Steve Jobs death. Before there was the SyFy channel or smart phones it was not cool to be a person such as myself( geek). I remember reading how stories about Jobs and Gates latest hypothesis in the early 80's made me feel normal. I remember the tingle I got as I would hide away at the local library reading the latest electronics magazine. In those moments I was no longer stuck in a small town in Mississippi. I was at the conventions listening to Jobs explain how the future of computing would be small systems. As I type this blog posting using my iPhone, his words prove to be true. Tonight we have lost much in this nation. Yet I keep hope for I know his legacy has inspired others to follow his steps. A Simple Tool. use it

People we continue to ask the president to so something but what are we doing? His own party did not back him but they backed Bush's ill-advised policies. We must contact Congress today. Demand an end to the Bush tax cuts and support for the American Job Act. Here is the simple tool to be used. http://www.congress.org/?ref=mv - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Cutting my life

This morning I prepare to take my parents to the VA in Jackson. I shall miss a full day's pay to do so. However, I am thankful that I am not having to drive 4 hours to get to them to then drive them to the VA. Yet, in the midst of my thanks , I think how cuts to programs for veterans cause me to return home. Our government is making cuts to programs that actually help working class families. My missing a day of work is the same as a parent having to stay home because no childcare facilities available. We must call on Congress to make cuts that matter and to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire.

Is Niggerhead Perry's end?

If it is we have an issue in this nation. Perry's end should be his call to end Social Security. His end should be his plans to cut teachers in Texas public schools. His end should be his admittance that he is offended at the idea he can be bought for 5K. Niggerhead should not be our issue with Perry. I mean really he is from Texas where people think Blacks where\are ok with Jim Crowe. We need to remind America the real issues Perry has. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Same stuff different year

People we have a problem in America. Why are we still fighting the same issues we were fighting 10 years ago? I reviewed my blog postings and articles I have written over the years. I found repetition. I have yet to write about the correct fuel required for interplanetary travel. I have not written any articles complaining about the broadband speed from my isolated rule abode. I could not find any writings discussing the lack of space in advance mathematics classes in public high schools. I saw several writings supporting pro-choice. There were articles discussing the modern day attempts to keep voters from voting. There were articles snout illegal wars. There were articles about government waste. I even wrote on the detriment to our economy the Bush tax cuts would have. Why am I rehashing tired articles? Because we continue to allow the same group of clowns to represent us. I have watched President Obama butt his head against the wall trying to get change in DC. It is a crying sha...

Follow me....

No blog update. Major crazy in Mississippi. I am working to prevent crazy from becoming law of the land. Follow me on Twitter: @amsmadwoman Facebook: Libby Middleson My blog may suffer for a moment but I am updating quick thoughts hourly on FB and Twitter. Mississippi has an all out assault on women in the works. We also have a candidate for governor who balanced the budget on the backs of the states's poor. Join me in healing the crazy before it becomes a national epidemic. Thanks - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Moving??????

I have been told to leave the nation. I am told I should live in a socialist nation. Should I tell this person I do live in a socialist nation? We have been socialist since the founding of our nation. These people actually believe social programs are the reason for our national debt. We must change the narrative in this nation. There are people actually falling for trickle down economics. Wake up America. Wake up. The FB poster told to me thus morning the wealthy would stop the liberals from achieving any form of success. It is strange those who have wrapped themselves in God & flag are the ones calling for war against the poor and working poor. I am at a loss of understanding how their minds work. Are these the people of Clockwork Organge? - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Ours to lose

I have reached that point. I must be honest by saying that point includes my financial information being changed without my consent. I am now in a financial bind because of no access to my finances. All of that aside, I spent the last of my spare cash on a political donation for a candidate running for statewide office in Mississippi. Now as to the point I have reached, it is the point of being pissed with people who clamor for change but do nothing to facilitate that change. President Obama has finally come out swinging and I am pulling eye-teeth to get people to just call Congress to support the president. I mean really. These are the same people who are upset with Congress and demand more of President Obama but they will not spend 5 minutes on the phone. They will spend hours on Twitter, Facebook, or talking with me but they will not call Congress. People we have a problem. If we do not get the change we desire it is on us. It is not the fault of anyone but us. There i...

A Beautiful Life

What is the value of a life? For whom is the toll of the bell justified? As a liberal I have been able to see the hearts of today's Republican by watching the reactions at the recent GOP debates. The crowd cheered the deaths of those by execution in Texas( http://rt.com/usa/news/debate-perry-governor-executions-117/). The crowd later chanted for the death of an uninsured 30 year old man ( ) Yet these are the same people calling for an end to abortion. What I witnessed is a level of regression that recalls the films of the single celled organisms from biology. Are we not highly developed organisms with the ability to reason? In my home state of Mississippi, where I am sure there were people cheering the exceution of other humans and the deaths of people without medical insurance, we have a proposition on our ballot regarding making abortion illegal, Measure 26 ( http://yeson26.net/amendment-26.aspx). The language of the measure is: ( source : http://yeson26.net/amendment...
