Universal Correction

I spent  most of this morning  asserting  I'm willing  to admit  when I'm wrong.  I spent  last night asserting  how I don't  cosign  on bullshit because  I've  too much of my own.   Well, speak  and the Universe  will deliver.  If you follow  me on Twitter  you may  think I'm a combative, perpetually  pissed off,  and love sharing  woman of mythical  Amazon proportions.  In truth, I'm a peace  loving  woman with an affinity  for good food and spirits.  As you read  please  keep the above  in mind.  After a hard morning  at a local  coffee house, I knew my body need something  more than a scone.  I set  my sights on the Tex-Mex place next door.  Who knew it would  be closed.   Briefly Eat 24 Yelp came to mind.  However, I decided  to gamble  on finding  food. I took a chance Yeah! Burger  would have space.  I had tried the location  for 3 months but found  it to be packed  each  time.  This time  I was able  to get into the door.  Yeah, it is that packed norma

Public servant Served up raw: Last laugh in Georgia

Luvs and Lovers, I thank each of you for returning.   It has been a struggle to get back into blogging after Mike Brown’s murder. I’ve children 35 to 17 and grandchildren. It is a struggle because I’ve seen this same crap too many times in America.     It seems daily I am reading of another Black child’s murder and the total disregard for the lives of Black people in the United States of America.   I state USA for this nation is supposed to be a leader in democracy and human rights.   However, every day I read of someone not seen as part of the majority experiencing more oppression in this nation. Those who dare to speak out are squashed by one means or another.   Today, I write about someone, whom I’ve admired for many years, who had a similar experience.   Cynthia McKinney first came to my attention in the 1990’s.   I did not live in her district but followed this woman bent on equality for all (She would later represent poor, White, rural people).   Her father was a known v

Earn My Vote-You Betta Vote

A few weeks back I was having an offline conversation with Black males.  They express to me a desire to not vote because voting doesn’t matter.  I admit I lost my cool. “Not Vote!!!?? Have you lost your fucking mind?”  In my defense these children were 17-19 years of age.  In their defense they are 17-19 years of age.  I realized they may have missed a few lessons in public school.  However, when I am on Twitter and supposedly educated Black people are yelling, “Earn My Vote”, I think we have fucking lost it.  First thing first it is still 2015 why are we discussing the 2016 presidential election?  We had 464 people killed by police as of May 2015.  That stat is not including the unofficial number or those ruled suicide.  In my view, we should be organizing to survive 2015.  At the current rate of the Jim Crowe killings we may not be here in 2016 to vote.   Many of the issues we face in the Black community can be resolved at the local or state level if we vote and engage locally.

End the terror

Wednesday  night, June 17th, 2015, I became  very depressed.  I should  say again for I slipped  into a state  after the murder of Mike Brown last year.  I stopped  blogging  at that time.  Recently  I was feeling  better and hopeful.  However  Wednesday  I saw this nation  go back to the same  shit.  If you've  followed  my blogging  in the past, you know I don't  blog stuff for mainstream  publication.  As I tell to my kids, I'm not your joy pill. I'm your  mama.  The depressing thing for me about Wednesday's  night massacre  is beyond  the lives lost, the flag  and even history. It is, in my opinion, to see even liberals  debate if it was terrorism.  How can we as Blacks escape  the centuries  of terror  in America  if even the liberals  debate  if terror? What I see in the debate  is more acts of terrorism  in America  against   Blacks.  When we protest  we are denied  our right of assembly. We are threatened  to not have employment  if we visibly  speak  out

My Pain as Viewed by Another's Intellect

One would  think I would  be accustomed  to the overt racism  since Obama  was elected. However, tonight. I was amazed  anew.  A study  has been  published  to indicate  riots  only serve up make America  more conservative.  I read the overview  of the study at nymag.com .  As I read  I thought  a better title  would be , " Black  people  scare Whites ".  The title ,  "If  Black people  don't sit down about these murders, they will lose more rights " could also  be used.  It is late and I am tired.  I shall  write  more tomorrow.  Just know the study, the publication   and the refusal  for open discussion  about these murders  say much. http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2015/05/new-study-shows-riots-make-america-conservative.html?mid=twitter_nymag

Libby's Co-sign Diary January 31, 2015

This posting is the first in what may become a series.  I say may become for it depends on how much crazy people expect me to co-sign.  When you meet me online or offline, I am very open about the fact I call myself on my own shit.  The hint and a half in that confession is don't expect me to co-sign on your shit when I have shit of my own.   If I am wrong, I don't expect you to agree with me.  Be real with me.  Don't co-sign on my crazy.  The only thing gained is more crazy.  We need more sanity.   Today, I had the pleasure of listening to  my sister degrade a school district in Georgia.  She was a little perturbed when I didn't co-sign on her rant.  How could I co-sign when the truth was already made known to me?  The particular district of which she was bemoaning, happened to be one in which I once had a child enrolled. She lamented to me her time as a pupil in this district.  She felt the district had been  under preparing students for generations.   I spoke

My SOTU response to the SOTU Comments of Others

SOTU:  I’m Loving It The president made the right speech last night regarding the state of the union.  Unlike many Democrats, he showed a spine last night.  He didn’t run away from the good of the union.  The President put the smack down on the GOP last night.  He bagged the teabaggers last night.  I loved it.  He called out Boehner who had spent the day stating Obama was concerned about his legacy.  The President responded last night with  #IknowBecauseIWoneBothOfThem.  We are blessed to have Obama as president.  He is in it for the people.  I loved last night’s SOTU.  Although, I was loving each moment of the speech, there were some not so happy with it.  Republicans and Black people didn’t like it.  The Republicans’ response to the speech was not a response but propaganda.  Sen. Joni Ernst stated at the start she wasn’t address the SOTU speech given by President Obama.  She instead focused on selling Keystone pipeline and Fox News talking points.  This tactic by the Republicans
