Grifting Ain't Easy

Today, I learned grifting isn't as easy as it seems when the GOP folks do it.   I offered, on my Twitter feed, moon rocks for sale to all who had faith in the GOP doing right.  Sadly I've not sold one moon rock. Say what you want but GOP folks have it down to a science.  Sarah Palin to Donald Trump have separated more folks from their money and minds than the Tilt-aWorld at the county fair. Grifting isn't my life work it seems.  I shall continue to do what I do, call out bull shit daily. People we need a plan of action and we need one now.  The Democrats in office playing rollover.  I am not here to appease anyone who allows the American people to be played.  Do your jobs folks.

There Were Only 7 Who Spoke Into The Silence For The Nation's Good

Friday, January 6, 2017 Congress had an opportunity to contest the Electoral College vote.   Yet only 7 people out of 535 stood to challenge the vote.   I call them the Magnificent 7: ·         Sheila Jackson Lee(TX) ·         Barbara Lee(CA) ·         Maxine Waters (CA) ·         Pramila Jayapal(WA) ·         Jim McGovern(MA) ·         Raul M Grijalva(AZ) ·         Jamie Raskin(MD) These people out of the 435 total members of the People’s House and of the 194 Democrats in the People’s House stood. We had 187 Democrats to remain seated and to not challenge the Electoral College vote.   They pleaded with someone from the Senate to stand with them.   In the Senate not one of the 46 Democrats stood.   Bernie Sanders, the Independent, was silent.   The silence from the Senate was loud to my ears.   Joe Biden’s insistence that it was over was a reminder that I still lived in America where no challenge to the system of White male supremacy would be allowed.   All the play

Women March: We need to remember to go forward

#WomensMarch, why?   Why not?   I’ve had the pleasure of reading several people’s questioning the reasoning for a Women’s March.   There are even women who question the reasoning for the march.   Personally, I see more reasoning for this march than I do the one planned by Rev Al (NAN). Aside:   I shall hit him in another posting about misogyny and opportunism.   In regards to the #WomensMarch, I understand the power of women gathered in one place for a singular purpose.   The purpose this time is the birthing of some “get right” in the USA.   The defection by White women this election highlights why “get right” has been in gestation for decades. It is time for women to come together.   We need the “get right” now.   This election, I felt a need to arm myself just to sip coffee at the local coffeehouse.   When Obama was running for office in 2008, I didn’t feel the need.   Note, I am a short, Black, and out lesbian living in Mississippi. This virulent misogyny during the 2016 ele
