"the 99%" protesters on Wall Street, who are speaking out against corporate greed.

Join The March!
Dear MoveOn member,
As the nights grow colder, the passion of the brave occupiers of Wall Street only grows stronger.

They're called "the 99%," because they stand for all of us left behind by the massive concentration of wealth among the richest 1%. The protesters' unrelenting campaign against the corporate takeover of our democracy is being fought in the best traditions of nonviolent resistance.

The 99% are both an inspiration and a call that needs to be answered. So we're answering it today, in a nationwide Virtual March on Wall Street to support their demand for an economy that serves the many, not the few.

If you've been waiting for an opportunity to stand in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street, today is the day to get off the sidelines. Join in the virtual march by doing what hundreds have done spontaneously across the web: Take your picture holding a sign that tells your story, along with the words "I am the 99%."

Post an "I am the 99%" photo.

Or, send the protesters a message of support and we'll deliver it directly to the 99% protesters on Wall Street today.

The 99% protesters represent all of us who are being left behind: union workers, public servants, the poor, the unemployed, seniors, the disabled, young people graduating off a cliff to no jobs, and all of us who are seeing our American Dream slip away.

These are the very people that the American Dream Movement was built to lift up and amplify, which we can do across the country by showing the 99% protesters that we share their frustration and stand with them.

Thousands of people from unions, community groups, and the American Dream Movement are physically marching today to Wall Street in solidarity with the 99% protesters. But we need this to go national, online, and viral with tens of thousands of members across the country joining the Virtual March on Wall Street in support of the 99%. Can you join the march?

White Boys Whine

Quick  and dirty   Star Trek  Discovery  is everything  I  thought  it would  be.  It is my hope the White  boys  chill the fuck out .  There will be a White male captain .   The Black  woman  will be of a lowered  status.  White  boys  are you appeased ? My personal  view fuck White  boys who had their dicks in a vise  over women  of color  at the helm of a fictional  space vessel.  I shall watch  Star Trek  Discovery .  I shall pay the fee to CBS Access  with joy. If you wanted to watch OITNB you paid  Netflix . Overall  I look  forward  to the day a fictional  show  that features  women  of color  in prominent  positions  doesn't  freak out White males.  They were  so freaked  out  they compared  The Orville  to Star Trek  Discover...

New century no time for old games

As I prepared to write my comments on the Marcus Smart/Jeff Orr incident, I noticed a grown-ass man push a chair in the path of two running children at McDs.  I moved the chair and informed the man I was helping him by preventing the children from tripping.  I informed him that if the children tripped he and I would have an altercation.  He had not one word to say to me.  Punk assed grown assed men don't fuck with grown-ups only those they consider weak.  These people are the ones who will take pics of their gun collections to post on FB or Twitter.  These are the ones who will heckle college kids with racial slurs, "go back to Africa", or "Where is your green card."  As a mother, I can only hope my example of not being a punk has become embedded in my kids.  Real strength comes from knowing who you are and not seeking to belittle others.  My thoughts on Marcus Smart and Jeff Orr are simple. Marcus don't let it get to you.  It is sad...

The words we use

Someone in the media is in hot water for calling the president a dick. In all fairness I have said worse about Dick Cheney and George Bush. Well Cheney. I do not think anyone should be in trouble for call president a dick. However I have yet to see President Obama do anything that warrants my calling him anything other than Mr. President. He has not started any unwarranted wars. He has not fought to keep the American people in financial bondage. He has worked to change the tax code to keep the American economy viable. Why would anyone call Obama a dick is beyond me. IMHO we have had people in power who were true dicks. They managed to screw the people of America and the world so badly it will take a decade to feel normal. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
