#stopblamingwhitewomenweneedunity or let's end all oppression

I had promised myself a week off work doing nothing but playing Runescape, drinking water, eating candy canes, and the only macro muscle movement involved elimination of waste.  Well, I failed.  I popped on Twitter to wish people well, as I twisted my hair, and saw this # stopblamingwhitewomenweneedunity .  I had to read the back story to understand what the hell happened.  As I write this posting this tag is getting roughly 30 hits a half hour.  It is not popping like #RacismEndedWhen but it is moving.  Here are my thoughts. The expansion of Western civilization did come at a heavy price.  The United States has an ugly history in regards to race relations. There is a huge disparity in sentencing in the United States. Women across the board do have it hard. When females fight each other nothing good happens for a nation or species. I write now to speak to the last.  It is time for unity amongst women.  We should unify to stop oppres...

Traditions

There comes a time when a tradition no longer serves the purpose for which it was started.  This thought came to me as I sat at my mother's house.  She is cooking chitterlings.  My son and I are not big on meat and she has high blood pressure.  Really, Mom!!! I think.  There comes a time to break a cycle of useless behaviors.  The chitterlings are best left in the hog, IMHO.  My plans for the holidays are to sit and to sit .  I shall move when my body demands food but otherwise, I shall do nothing.  After the holidays, I shall move to a new phase of life.  I plan to be more active than I have been in 2013. I lost some traditions in 2013 when my elders died.  The good of their ways I shall keep but the things that are no longer viable I shall allow to be buried with them.  It is time we evolve as a species.  May 2014 be the year we leave behind those Traditions that no longer serve us.

The humans

I write very often on items that would lead one to assume I am fascinated with race, sexuality or money.  Truth, I am enthralled by the ability of humans to still be in existence.   This morning one of the first stories in my time line on Twittter was this http://m.wlox.com/#!/newsDetail/24275875.   How are we still a life form on this planet? This level of crazy didn't start today it had been on going since recorded history.  How much more crazy can we survive?

Half-baked in the South: The Usual Suspects

There are some things that seem to be rather innocuous but for some reason have become a focus  for Southern defiance.  President Obama asked for U.S. flags to be at half mast until 12/9/2013 in honor of Mandela.  However, there are those in the Southern reigion of the United States who find the request to be the assertion of some Federal overreach.  These people have responded in typical fashion.  Pickens County, SC typical.  My wonderful governor Phil Bryant of Ms, also typical.  Phil Bryant ‏ @ PhilBryantMS 20h Flags will continue to fly at half-staff tomorrow to mark Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. # TheGreatestGeneration http:// twitpic.com/dnt59q If you live outside Mississippi or the South you may not be aware of the implication of Phil Bryant's tweet but the subtle nod to the defiant hard core racist did not go unnoticed by me.   I was immediately reminded of the Confederate...

Get real Liberal America. We need more than #FastFoodStrikes

December 5th 2013 SEIU was able to stage a nationwide strike in the fast food sector.  Will Congress raise the national minimum wage? Hell naw.  Was the strike without merit? It depends.  If the people who took part in the strike don't write Congress to ask for a national raise in the minimum wage then the strike was for naught.  It also depends on how many of those on strike are willing to start new corporations.  It also depends on how many of us will become patrons of these new corporations that are responsible "citizens"; not takers.  Yesterday, I setup a project on GoFundMe.  The goal is to raise money to start a restaurant  that will pay a livable wage to 12 full-time employees while charging current McDonald's prices for the food.  Employees will also have insurance coverage that does not come at the public's expense.  Let's see if it can be done.  I am asking for donations for this project. I need 100,000 $5 donors or 1,00...

GOP : Make me wanna holla

It seems the GOP is not doing well with rebranding.  Be it immigration reform or Rosa Parks, the GOP is failing.  The latest GOP fail is the tutoring sessions on how to run against women.  When I read the headline, I thought; "Joke. Onion".  Sadly it is a real tutoring session.  I am reluctant to write a game plan for the GOP given their recent behaviors but this seems like kicking a man when he is down.  I am just not that type.  I am amazed that someone did not stop these sessions from being entitled "How to run against Women."  Given #WarOnWomen is one of the most consistently trending hashtags on Twitter, one would think, forget it.  I am just amazed. I am also amazed that the GOP thinks trotting out a wife on the campaign trail will make a difference.  The number of female headed households and the lack of sensitivity to rape displayed by the GOP over and over in the media means having a wife will not help.  If the GOP really...

The Crazy Continues in America

Excuse me if I go astray as I type this posting.  I have worked long hours and watched Scandal.  However, the real scandal is the one committed by the GOP.  Somehow between a desire to see President Obama fail and Koch brother money funding a misinformation campaign, the people in America believe getting cancellation notice of their junk policies is worse than slavery.  Hint: It is not.  Tonight as I attempting to catch-up on all I missed today, someone replied to me on Twitter about "Obamacare".  I stated the ACA was not actually President Obama's original plan.  This person insisted it was. I then asked the person what plan did she/he have to replace ACA.  Instead of responding the person insisted I was not sane.  I may not be but I do know if we don't have ACA we need something better than the for profit system we currently have.  I digress, my point this person only knows healthcare reform was done while a Black man was in of...

Walking on Water

I am attempting to remember when President Obama stated he walked on water.  I may have missed his saying those words.  However, I do tire of the narrative built by his detractors stating he should walk on water.  He is human; stop the crazy.   He can't plug an oil spill with his dick and although he is brilliant,  he is not a web developer.    Could the website have been better? Hell yes. Should we have used direct hire FTEs for this project?  Hell yes.  Can it be fixed before November 30th? Hell yes.  It is sad when left leaning media outlets take the Koch narratiive and run with it. There is a failure by the media to inform the public of a need for a change in our healthcare system.   It seems the media would rather take the cheap way out by reporting on a website's failure to launch than why the for profit system has failed American families. I write opinions not news.  Yet it seems I and others like me re...

Here we go AGAIN ????

It seems the GOP has taken the discontent with a website to mean it is time to repeal ACA again.   There seems to be a disconnect in GOP logic.  My discontent with GOP doesn't mean I dislike all Protestant heterosexual White males.  My discontent means I wish today's GOP were more the party of Lincoln than the party of dicks and assholes.   The only thing the party has done is to produce legislation to allow hazardous transportation of oil across our waterways and farmland.   It is time for mobilization to remove GOP from all levels of government.    As a whole they have done more to help multinational corporations than they have to help the American people.   These crazy attacks on the ACA show a concerning lack of concern for Americans.   The current for profit healthcare system bankrupts families.   Yet, GOP claim it is better than ACA which is worse than slavery.  People rise up stop this cr...

Where is Faith

Faith is MIA in the Christian nation.   Faith has not been seen by Christian folks since November of 2008.  Well,  I should say some Christian folks haven't seen faith.   What happened in 2008? Americans elected a Black man to the office of President of the United States.    Aww hell naw! Was the scream from many households that night.  Some said with joy and some with fear.   I write to address the latter.   Since 2008 the membership in hate groups has grown rapidly.   Gun sales have increased exponentially. People are packing heat as in the days of the Wild Wild West. Recently we have seen a call to and an attempt to end our government.  The funny thing the person leading the Americans.to dismantle the government wasn't born in America.   The things we do to ourselves.   All of this call to arms and other such crap is fear based.  Fear causes one to lose sense of direction a...

Clueless Fucks

Okay, every now and then, as of late, I find the strength to get out of bed to blog.   In truth it could be the McDs coffee in my system that boosts me up.  Today it is the #EBT that motivated me.  The hate, the racism, the classism, and all of the other ism from that hash tag is beyond sad.  People without a fucking clue tweeted their cluelessness with glee.  I ask who becomes gleeful when humans go hungry?  I once drove 160 miles a day for $11/hr.  I did not qualify for EBT.  I was a hungry motherfucker.  I don't wish hunger on anyone.  I can think of no one I wish to see hungry.  It is amazing Jesus, the Christ, did not think hunger was a reason for glee either.  Yet, the gleeful "Christians" were frothing to be the one with the most tweets of shame for the poor.  "Get a job" was the most often posted tweet.  Clueless. It amazes me how the McDs or Walmart worker is not appreciated or considered to be a bu...

Games rich people play

I know I am not the only person forgoing SNL for C-SPAN tonight.  I watched to see if the rich people in the House of Representatives, on a government sponsored healthcare plan, would really vote for a bill crafted to end access to healthcare for many in the working classes.  The House GOP has spent so much Koch money to gin up support for the underfunding of the Affordable Healthcare Act I am jealous.  Jealous for that is money that could have been spent ginning support for our sub-par infrastructures in America.  However they have wasted time and money to defeat a law that has survived 40 something attempts of nullification.  Games rich people pay. I continue to think of a line from a Sheryl Crow song, "....I can't afford your gas....".  At the time of this writing, I have $28 dollars in my account and I drive 120 miles each day to work; do the math.  I can't afford this gas coming from DC to subsidize those whose money is longer than my own. ...

Manufacturer of fear

Recently there has been an all out campaign on Twitter to stop ACA.  However when questioned those opposed to ACA only mouth talking points from Fox or pretend to be most obtuse.  They even denounce the website healthcare gov.   Why hold on to fear? The $7500 increase has been debunked twice.  There is no " lie" by President Obama in regards to keeping current private insurance.   The government is not forcing anyone to join the exchange.  The President is not interfering with free enterprise by forcing providers to remain in business in states with exchanges.   If a company pulls out of a state that has an exchange it was choice of said company.   If a person is unable to acquire via the exchange comparable coverage then he or she has ground for legal recourse.   People get the facts.   Stop the spread of fear. If the world ends October 1st so be it.  Otherwise, I implore all to go to WWW.healthcare...

Cutting SNAP makes a difference Not

There are days I have to wonder about the GOP.  I understand the rationale behind their actions or obstructions.  I wonder why they give into such rationale?  It seems they have forgotten how they came to be elected to office.  People not corporations voted them into office.  Yet each week they forget how they cane to be in office.  There is not much for me to say in this blog posting.  I have been posting the same thing for years.  It is time for us to vote these people out of office.  It is time for the American people to be more important to the government than corporate interests.  Cutting SNAP will not improve jack for the nation.  Links: http://www.businessinsider.com/here-are-the-states-with-the-most-to-lose-from-republican-food-stamp-cuts-2013-9 http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/09/21/more-snap-judgments/?smid=tw-NytimesKrugman&seid=auto&_r=0 http://www.politicususa.com/2013/09/20/hunger-shame-snap-v...

Childish Moment

Every now and then, I know I am being childish.  I give in to those moments for suppression does not work.  Saturday, as I sat at my mother's house cleaning her computer, for free, again, I had a childish moment.  That moment came when President Obama handed the call to engage in war back to Congress. Although war is a serious contemplation, I stood up and did the "Church Lady" dance.  The dance wasn't pretty but neither are the political games being played when it comes to Syria. Allow me to go on record as stating, I have marched against wars in my lifetime.  I was given a medical discharge during Desert Storm I from the Navy.  I do not believe in interfering in the fights of other nations.  However, if the people of those nations, the people not the politicians, reach out to us I think we should respond.  America was built on the backs of people from around the world.  America has oppressed those people who have built this nation. Howeve...

What do we do as the Syrians die?

I have started this posting several times, however; something interrupted me each time.   This posting is important to me.   I am by no means a war hawk.   I truly believe in the beating of swords into plows. I do not wish to see more of our children maimed or dead to support this complex.   However, we must do something in Syria.   The people of Syria are asking for our help.   They have begged for our help for well over a year.   They are tired of being caught in the crossfire.   When we became involved in the conflict in Libya, I spoke out against our involvement.   I did not support our being involved in Libya, Iraq, or Afghanistan.   There are times when one knows the military industrial complex is at work.   This time I know we should act without delay.   I think of Rwanda.   I think Kosovo.   I think Germany 1939.     I think of how the plight of Jewish people in Europe was ignored until almost...

Misogyny is still an issue in Black community

I am posting another view of my timeline on Twitter.   This person took issue with my usage of the word misogyny and Black in the same sentence.   First, he/she will be okay when the swelling goes down.   Second, we do have an issue with misogynist attitudes within the Black community that is almost as bad as the institutional racism we as Blacks navigate on a daily basis.   Third, misogyny is not a monopoly of the Black community.  I am acknowledging it exists in the Black community and I have experienced it first hand. It is hard sometimes to swallow unpleasant truths about self.   I tell people I am not fat, I am just big boned.   Until we accept the whole self-truths, we arrest our development.   We become naught more than a pond in a valley, stagnate and filled with bottom feeders.   If you know me offline then you will appreciate the humor of this person’s assessment of me.   If you don’t know me, I am the Black lesbian si...

Troll wars

I post an example of my TL on Twitter.  When trolls come a calling I reply.   Beach Bum @wjqjr attempted to scrub all his tweets from my TL.  He missed a few. This tweet was written in response to my question if he\she feared Black people based on the statistical data of the incarceraton rate amongst Blacks.
