This posting  is the contents of an email sent from the Tea Party to a buddy of mine.  Dems if we are to win this mid-term we need to put the money raised into action and not into personal bank accounts.  Time for action not dinners. Actual content from email sent to a buddy: ****************************************************************************** Right now we have teams in Mississippi knocking on doors and talking to folks about the primary race for US Senate.   WE NEED REINFORCEMENTS! SEND HELP NOW! Will you come join us in Mississippi for a day, two days, or through June 3 ? travel and lodging paid for by TPPCF or Will you make simple (really simple), quick phone calls from home  with our easy to use website system?   or Will you do nothing ? “Bad men need no better opportunity than when  good men look on and do nothing .” ...

GOP not aiding in the storms of American life

Thanks to my FB buddy Mary for pumping up my blog. Since she put it on blast with Crooks And Liars (http://crooksandliars.com/kenneth-quinnell/50-state-blog-round-912), I decided to drive the 10 miles to town to update this blog using my laptop. Thanks Mary for the shout out. Another motivator for my updating tonight after a long day at work is the title link. https://twitter.com/thinkprogress/status/114142945304776704 There seems to be a high cost for getting a clue that Cantor does not wish to pay. Must we suffer for his lack of knowledge? He is a victim of the same misinformation that plagues many in America. A young man in his 20's said today he would not be able to retire until he was 90. I had to say something to him. 1. The amount of FICA taken out of a person's check does not equate to the amount that person receives in SSI payments. 2. Warren Buffett can not turn FICA into a small living in 50 years. 3. If he is able to work at 90 then give thanks that his ...

There was no tea at the Tea Party

I attended a Tea Party rally in Jackson, MS on the 7th of May. It was my first actually Tea Party rally. Some things in life demand alcohol sadly, I had none to go with the tea. I went with expectations of being presented with new solutions to the problems we are facing in Mississippi and America. What I got was nothing more than the same worn out talking points I have gotten in the MSM. I have a low tolerance for BS, mainly because I am so full of my own mess, and it was not long before I found myself responding out loud to the steady stream of BS coming over the PA. The rally started with the typical ritual of Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner. I was confused why the ritual was required. I have yet to be mistaken for anything other than an American by people outside the United States. I, in fact, am guilty of taking for granted that I shall be an American until the day I die. I do not sing the Star Spangled banner every time I step out in public ( I normally...

Chasing the rabbit on a sunny day

Please click on the title link to get the background for the chase. I love life and humans. Today, as life returned to my body, I took time to speak with an offline buddy about life in general. Given I am a product of my society; I was reading tweets as I spoke with my buddy. I came across one tweet about child abuse that led me to another news article in the local paper (http://bit.ly/dJMzU). It is this news article that led to my buddy and I chasing the rabbit. The article spoke of the cancellation by a local Tea Party to demonstrate outside the building that houses a local Nation of Islam Study group the day before Easter. The reason for the demonstration was to highlight radical Islam. At the end of the article there was a paragraph of an email sent earlier this week confirming the plans of the National Black Panther Party of Self Defense to be at the same location the day before Easter. All things being me, I immediately saw humor in the cancellation. My buddy and I start...

No Courage Required

Today, as I debated weather to appear at my son's school to encourage him to do right or to cut the lawn, I received a call from a kindred of soul. As we discussed an upcoming MoveOn.org event, he said to me he admired my courage for taking a stand on certain issues. My mind went to my grandmother at his comment. She always said, "Do right and stay in church. God will be with you all your days." Although I have yet to find those words in the Bible, I do believe in what she said. Doing right does not require courage, it just requires doing. It is right to breathe and it requires no special courage. There are times and events in one's life that requires one to do right, and just like breathing no courage is required. Where is the courage requirement to tell Congress "No" when it comes to exchanging UE benefits for continued tax cuts? What courage is required to pass a health care reform act that allows all Americans to have access to health care via ...

Worldwide people revolution

The basis of my blog is that I am a mad woman from Mississippi. Given that is my basis please do not allow this post to shock you. I am writing from a view of complete and disgust filled anger. My anger stems from the reactions in America to the revolution in Egypt from the Left and the Right political groups. I am so completely amazed that we in America continue to tout our superiority over the rest of the world when we know nothing about the people around the world. Pull any Egyptian or Iraqi off the street and he/she can tell you more about the American people than we can about either Egypt or Iraq. It is sad that we as Americans have continued to support despot leaders around the world out of fear that our country would fall if we actually supported the people of those countries. Yesterday, I watched U.S. leader after leader evade giving full support to the Egyptian people. I watched the television thinking WTL??!!!??? Sen. John McCain came out with a massive load of BS ab...

Why they are dying

I was hoping to keep the recent suicides of the fish and birds quiet for fear of black helicopters arriving at my door. I was hoping someone else would speak up saving me the hassle of being forced to out my sources. You see, I talk with the animals. They are fearful of the Tea Party agenda: destroy any measure approved by President Obama. The animals see the Tea Party creating fear in normally sound minded Democrats who will bend to their will without a fight. The birds are spreading the whispers of moderate Republicans erecting shrines for the Tea Party within chambers on which they place their re-election hopes. A sense of doom was built within the animals after each power flexing and rhetoric filled speech of Boehner. Until the people of this great nation rise up and tell the corporate owned elected officials to return the government to the people, more animals’ suicides should be expected. They see the control of the House by the Tea Party agenda, “drill baby drill”, as a d...

The Day the Patriots Died

The patriots died the day Obama won the election. In truth their collective death began when it became apparent that Obama just may win the election. Their death marked the beginning of another sad chapter in the history of my country. Sitting by the graveside of the patriots was another group who had waited for so long to unleash unmitigated hatred once more in this great land of mine. While many of us looked to the heavens for hope and gave thanks for the greatness of this land, this group prepared for the undermining of the foundations of our nation. This group claimed to be grassroots yet the only thing “grassroots” about the group has been its ability to appeal to the base need for violence amongst it devotees. Many of the devotees of this group fight against things that would benefit them the most. If it were not for the sad tragedy of watching those addicted to hate fight against an imaginary monster, one would laugh at the bricks, name calling, and spittle that fly from t...
