My SOTU response to the SOTU Comments of Others

SOTU:  I’m Loving It The president made the right speech last night regarding the state of the union.  Unlike many Democrats, he showed a spine last night.  He didn’t run away from the good of the union.  The President put the smack down on the GOP last night.  He bagged the teabaggers last night.  I loved it.  He called out Boehner who had spent the day stating Obama was concerned about his legacy.  The President responded last night with  #IknowBecauseIWoneBothOfThem.  We are blessed to have Obama as president.  He is in it for the people.  I loved last night’s SOTU.  Although, I was loving each moment of the speech, there were some not so happy with it.  Republicans and Black people didn’t like it.  The Republicans’ response to the speech was not a response but propaganda.  Sen. Joni Ernst stated at the start she wasn’t address the SOTU speech given by President Obama.  She instead focused on se...

SOTU: Infrastructure

A call went out last week from OFA asking what do we the people desire to hear in the SOTU.  Given I recently decided to break out on my own, I did not place much importance on the request at the time.  However, after hearing of the three GOP planned responses to the SOTU, I decided I should make my desire known.  Maybe just maybe the GOP will hear me and stop the wandering the path of obstruction. It is time for America to progress and we cannot do it as long as the GOP continues to be focused on the destruction of Obama's terms as president.  Instead of spending the last five years focused on improving infrastructure in America, they have spent time attacking every GOP think tank idea put forth by President Obama.  Enough of the crap. We, the working poor of America, don't have time or money for rich boys' games.  I don't have $1B to give to the person creating the perfect bracket.  I do have a voice to encourage progress in America that lifts us al...

Walking on Water

I am attempting to remember when President Obama stated he walked on water.  I may have missed his saying those words.  However, I do tire of the narrative built by his detractors stating he should walk on water.  He is human; stop the crazy.   He can't plug an oil spill with his dick and although he is brilliant,  he is not a web developer.    Could the website have been better? Hell yes. Should we have used direct hire FTEs for this project?  Hell yes.  Can it be fixed before November 30th? Hell yes.  It is sad when left leaning media outlets take the Koch narratiive and run with it. There is a failure by the media to inform the public of a need for a change in our healthcare system.   It seems the media would rather take the cheap way out by reporting on a website's failure to launch than why the for profit system has failed American families. I write opinions not news.  Yet it seems I and others like me re...

What do we do as the Syrians die?

I have started this posting several times, however; something interrupted me each time.   This posting is important to me.   I am by no means a war hawk.   I truly believe in the beating of swords into plows. I do not wish to see more of our children maimed or dead to support this complex.   However, we must do something in Syria.   The people of Syria are asking for our help.   They have begged for our help for well over a year.   They are tired of being caught in the crossfire.   When we became involved in the conflict in Libya, I spoke out against our involvement.   I did not support our being involved in Libya, Iraq, or Afghanistan.   There are times when one knows the military industrial complex is at work.   This time I know we should act without delay.   I think of Rwanda.   I think Kosovo.   I think Germany 1939.     I think of how the plight of Jewish people in Europe was ignored until almost...

Impeachment? Why?

Some days I don't have it in me to deal with stupidity.   I ask what has President Obama done in office worthy of impeachment?    Being Black is not an impeachable offense.  If someone thinks being Black is an offense then he or she has other issues.   Seriously,  I ask did President Obama lie to Congress to put our nation at war?  Has he given billions of our dollars to one company via no bid contracts?   What has he done that is impeachable?   As I type I think of the money wasted to impeach Bill Clinton for enjoying fellatio on the job.  The French laughed their asses off laughing at us. Now the world wonders why we have congressmen spending more time seeking evidence for impeachment than on ways to improve the GDP.  Where was this concern when Bush sent our children off to die or to be maimed?  This Congress is unproductive , self-serving , & race baiting.   They continue to ply mem...

Who was that unmasked man at the debate?

Who was that unmasked man at the debate? Seriously, I want to know who was Mitt last night? He backed off so many of the promises he made to win the GOP primary. In short Mitt lied his ass off. Joe Scarborough failed to take on the fact Mitt lied his ass off. Instead Joe applauded the bullish and manic behavior of the GOP candidate. I have yet to hear any conservative call Mitt Romney out on his blatant lies. Maybe they have become jaded at this point with his lies. If I had voted for Mitt Romney in the GOP primaries I would be madder than a wet hen in the Mississippi heat. Mitt Romeny made a hard left turn during the first debate. He reminded voters, as Newt pointed out several times, why he was able to be governor of Massachusetts. I should have seen this crab walk when he mentioned that he favored something like the Dream Act. Mitt, too little too late. Latinos were watching the GOP primary debates. In fact, we all watched the GOP primary debates (holla at your "bro...

People Hold it Together

My dear Americans please do not lose your ever loving minds. Having Obama as president of the United States of America is not Armageddon.  Seriously we have survived worse Pearl Harbor,  Civil War, and George W. Bush.  In my own life I am surviving day in day out setbacks.  My faith in the guidance of Christ in me keeps me going. I have a FUBAR situation now but I am still going.  I do not allow the noise outside myself to quite the inner and ever loving voice of Christ within me.  Today's media enjoys keep our nation hyped up on fear. I am here to tell you it is possible to let go of the fear.  I tell you what I lived. I went from $250K to foodstamps. However I am still living.  We can do it, together.  Stay positive.  Think without fear.  Be ready to be a rock for another person. We can do it together.   Certain politicians and faux news outlets need to stop the manipulation of fear. Shame on the churches, synagogues,...

President Dufus???!!!???

I took time this Sunday morning to engage in one of my unhealthy pastimes, watching Sunday morning political talk shows. I knew the morning would not pass without my hearing some baseless swipe at President Obama. This morning the swipe was in regards to the President’s level of intellect by Pawlenty(http://abcn.ws/iXoPMu). I am guessing he has an above average IQ. I am not basing my guess on my course work in the field of IQ testing or abnormal psychology. I am just thinking that if he was president of the Harvard Law Review and has written two books, the man has more than the average American when it comes to intellect. If I really thought the president was a dullard I would be the first to know since I often function using an IQ of 85 (Intellectual dullness is the product of living in a dry county). I have to wonder what Pawlenty thought of G.W. Bush’s intellect (http://bitly.com/jgEELP). Bush used terms that left many, even in the South, wonder what the heck he said. Bush...

What is going on in Libya

This morning, I find myself having to work extra hard to find anger inside of me. My FB buddies had me laughing so hard I was crying. They were joking about the absurdity of our responses or lack of responses to serious issues. One issue that has my attention is Libya. We have involved ourselves in yet another foreign military matter. Gas is already high here in the states. Our bombing Libya will not lower the price I pay at the pump. Why are we bombing Libya? Why are we in Libya? I am not afraid to say I am against our bombing Libya. If we need to help the people in Libya so badly then we need to do the same for the other African countries. There are some who say to me I should say nothing for it would not look good on President Obama. So the love what?!?!! Spending money to bomb a foreign nation that has not attack us does not look good fiscally. In fact it looks downright terrible given we are looking at cuts to several domestic spending programs. I do not have a ph.d....

Still not getting it.....

Because I am open to learning I converse with those who may not think as do I. I tend to learn much by keeping an open mind. Today I have been very busy taken care of sick child, parents, and computer systems. It is such a coincidence that Senator Vitter sent to me an email calling for the repeal of the HCR. His claim that the SOTU was meet with a muted response leads me to understand he is not working with me. First we need HCR even if it did nothing but protect us from private insurers. ( http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/26614998/detail.html) Secondly the recent SOTU has motivated sleeping progressives into action. Read the letter below to form your own opinions. I must return to nurse duties. I shall update MT training late late. Thanks for following. Dear Friend, The reaction to the State of the Union speech last night was the most muted I've ever seen. I think it's because folks know that bipartisan symbols and pretty speeches are nice, but what really matters t...

Rising Above Race

I am having a busy day so I had not expected to post another post to my blog. However, I got a tweet today about something said by Rep. Jim Moran http://tinyurl.com/4obnyvz. Race was the reason for the 2010 losses. I am taking time to respond on my blog. I blew up politico ( apologies) on Twitter with my soapbox rant. I am a member of every minority group in America. However, it is rare that I pull any cards. The only time I pull a card is when the truth is hard to deny. I am a liberal's liberal. I am a goddess not God so I must give everyone the benefit of doubt. I can not believe the 2010 elections, which where not a mandate given the low voter turn-out, saw Republicans win simply because of race. Keep in mind that President Obama won by a landslide majority in 2008. I do maintain that the powers that be thought a Black person would never win but a woman might, hence the railroading of H. Clinton by the DNC.( You may read into that statement whatever you wish. Let...

A wasting we will go 2011

I wondered how long before the investigations would begin. Wonder no more ( http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/issa-probes-obama-accomplishments/2011/01/13/id/382703?s=al ). If anyone remembers the money and time wasted during the Clinton years on special investigation then my being upset is not surprising. I am a great number of things and the thing that tops the list is thrifty. Spending money unnecessarily is high on my list of upsets. Wasting time is the only thing that tops spending money unnecessarily. Where was Rep Issa during the Bush/Cheney years? I continue to ask this question. He is seeking to investigate the Obama administration on suspicion of corruption. The no-bid contracts given to Haliburton ( http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/about_hal/gao_waxman_reports.html) should be under investigation. Health care in this country must be reformed. Aging baby boomers and the unemployed are about to swell the rolls of Medicaid and Medicare. We need to reform now to handle th...

Stormy Weather

I have a slight headache from my night last night. I was up until 2AM keeping the stress I felt from my face during yet another tornado in my county in Mississippi. All of that aside, I shall attempt to solider on with my take on storms, tax cuts, government officials being superheroes. Given that I am short, I shall keep this stuff short and sweet. The storm that hit NYC could have been handled more effectively had the city and the state not made budget cuts that reduced the experienced workforce of those who normally handle blizzards. The state and the city were force to make cuts because of the reduction in federal funds coming into the state. This event is an example of trickle down working in the lives of the American people. Something that I find to be humorous is Gov. Christie's application for federal funds to assist with clean-up. It is downright a slap in the face to unemployed, uninsured, poverty living Americans who bear the results of his rhetoric regarding enti...

Man Up Prez!!!

Well, finally, someone, with more political sway than I, has told the president to man-up. James Carville’s statement regarding the president’s performance became the talk of the news. His statement only reflects the frustration that has been growing amongst the progressives since February of 2009. Progressives have been waiting for the president to promote real change even if Congress did anything about it or not. The lack of the president’s willingness to take a strong stance on any of the proposals from his campaign has left many on the far left disenchanted. They were looking for someone who cared more about making positive changes than be re-elected. It seems the president has only given more of the “Washington” same. Within the circles of the far-left it has longed been acknowledge that the Bush years bankrupted this country not only financially but also socially and politically. Whoever was chosen after Bush would have a long hard row to hoe but it was not impossible. H...

Tips for the President

Below is the letter I am sending to President prior to his live appearance on Larry King. Someone has to tell the President he needs to take a stand against his detractors. Class is good but getting beatdown by misrepresentation is not. Mr. President, I did not vote for you in the last election, however; I do not desire to see you take responsibility for stuff over which you have little control. Someone should have said to you long ago the oil spill is not your fault. I have a few pointers before you appear on Larry King Live tonight. • Jobs in exchanged for clearing the way for other candidates. This issue is a non-issue that is being highlighted by the “powers that be” to cover you in mud. Let it be known that our attention and federal dollars need to be focused on Israel, Korea, and the oil spill. Special prosecutors are a waste of money and time. • Israel has stated it has the right to attack anyone attempting to run the blockade. It sounds to me as if Israel is the aggres...
